Video Overload!!!

Ben has been doing so many new things lately that we've gone a little crazy with the videos. Watch his progression as he tries to crawl. He hasn't actually crawled yet, but keep an eye out for that video because it's going to happen soon!

Playing on the living room floor:

Playing the drums:
(it starts in the middle of the video so be patient)

Taking a bath:
(He would not sit on his butt, he had to be on his belly so I had to quickly drain some of the water)

Backing up:
(kinda a long one, but make sure you watch the end...its the cutest)

Laughing at Maggie:

So close to crawling!:

Being Tickled by Uncle Jim:

Rollin' Rollin' Rollin'

(the 2nd minute he got cut off, but wait because the end is the best)

Getting Ready To Move!

Benjamin is growing up so fast! He will be 6 months old in 2 days and learning more and more every day. He loves to smile, giggle, sit, stand, bounce, and roll around on the floor. His hand-eye coordination is amazing and he LOVES his baby food (especially the orange ones). He has settled into quite the little personality too. Most of the time he is very chill and laid back. He loves to be out and about with Mom and watch his surroundings. He also loves to sit on the couch with Dad and play on the computer. Of all the bright toys he has, the remote control is his favorite. A tech junkie already!

The first video is Ben sitting up playing with his toys and being Super Oober Cute! The second video is a short clip of Ben rocking on his hands and knees. I put him down on the floor but instead of laying on his belly he pulled his knees up and started rocking. I happened to have the camera within arms reach and caught the end of his new trick!

Not so sure about the new food Mom...

This is Benjamin trying rice cereal for the first time. He didn't like it the first time and after a while he stopped opening his mouth and instead was trying to suck out of the spoon. He is doing much better after a week of it. Now he enjoys it!

Overstimulation!!!

Ben received this jumper/activity center from Papa Stu and Grandma D at one of my baby showers. He is now old enough and strong enough to play in it! In the video we caught him in a GREAT mood and very talkative. You can hear Mom, Dad, and Uncle Todd in the background.

Ben is becoming mobile! He is starting to move around by turning on his side and kicking in circles (its very 3 stooges like). He is also talking a lot more and developing a very charming personality.

Music

This is probably one of our family's favorite bands:

Hope you enjoy this as much as we did! For those that don't know who the Swell Season, they are the two musicians that starred in the movie Once, Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova. Glen Hansard is also the lead singer of The Frames (a phenomenal band from Ireland).

A note from Dad

I'd like to point out that this blog will be a somewhat different format than the previous Buzzy Baby Blog. That blog was created purely for baby related information and when Buzzy Baby number 2 comes along (don't ask, it isn't any time soon) we'll start that blog back up.

For this blog we want to broaden our subject matter to include all aspects of the family. We'll still post plenty of Ben updates including pictures, videos, and the like but we'll also do our best to write about family gatherings, family outings, food, music, and anything else worth writing about. What you won't find here is a daily journal about what we do day in and day out. No one wants to read about boring routine stuff like work, feeding Ben, or changing Ben (which is pretty much all we do these days). You want to hear about the fun stuff we get to do when we're not doing the routine stuff.

Another thing about this blog is that there are a lot of links and things in the sidebar columns to the left and right that we encourage you to check out often. To the left we have links to our photo albums and youtube channel. You can subscribe to those separately if you like so that you know when new material has been added. On the right is a snippet view of our family Twitter account that will give you an idea of what we're up to at that particular moment. For those of you that don't know what Twitter is you should do a quick google search. Very cool service that is a lot of fun to use. Those of you that use twitter should follow @raisingabuzz so you can be the first to know when a new post has been written or our family is doing something cool.

We'll be adding plenty of other things to the site as more people begin using it and as we figure out exactly what we're going to use it for. For now, enjoy the videos and pictures and check back often for updates and fun new stuff!

Welcome to Raising A Buzz!

Hello Bloggers!

Peter and I have decided to start a family blog separate from our Baby Blog. Now that our Baby Buzzy is here we want to change the focus from baby to family. We have also moved from Wordpress to Blogger because it has more features. Our blog page now has direct links to our Piassa Photo page and Peter's YouTube channel where we upload all of our videos of Ben. We hope that you all enjoy the new blog.

Check out the new video of Ben playing with Mommy & Daddy:
